Audition Tracker Spreadsheet
Track submissions, callbacks, and bookings in one Google Sheet.
One sheet, eight columns, thirty seconds per submission. This is the tracker we recommend to every actor who has ever forgotten what choice they made on a tape that came back three weeks later.
The eight columns
- Date submitted
- Project
- Role
- Casting office
- Source — agent, self-submitted, direct request
- Link to the tape
- Status — submitted, callback, booked, no response
- The choice you made, in one line
Two habits that make it work
Fill the row at the moment you hit send, never later. And write the choice column honestly — "played it as though she already knew" is useful; "good take" is not.
Top Picks
Affiliategear
Maono PD100W Wireless USB Mic
Tested on three self-tape days: clean dialogue at desk distance, tight rejection of room echo, and USB-C plus XLR so it moves with you from laptop to interface. The best sub-$60 voice upgrade for seated slates.
Ring Light
Neewer 18" Bi-Color Ring Light
Best balance of power, color accuracy, and price for self-tapes.
Microphone
Rode Wireless ME
Clip on, hit record. Broadcast-clean audio with zero setup.
Reviewing it monthly
Once a month, sort by status. Two numbers matter: how many tapes you sent, and what fraction came back. Trends across a season tell you more about your material choices than any single audition can.
Where the files live
One cloud folder per year, one subfolder per project, with the exported tape and the sides together. Link the folder from the tracker so a redirect request never turns into an archaeology project.
