Delivery is the step where good tapes get lost. We sent the same 400 MB file through the main services and looked at what actually arrives, how fast, and how often the link still works a month later.

How the three main options compare

  1. WeTransfer — fastest to send, no account needed, but free links expire in days. Fine when the brief names it.
  2. Dropbox or Google Drive — permanent links and folder structure; you must check sharing permissions every single time.
  3. Frame.io — best playback experience for the recipient, overkill for most auditions.

The mistake that kills submissions

A link that asks casting to request access is a tape that does not get watched. Set sharing to "anyone with the link can view" and test it in a private browser window before you send.

Never require a login, a password, or an account signup.

What each service does to your file

None of these three re-compress your video, which is the reason to use them at all. Messaging apps and social platforms do, sometimes brutally — never deliver a tape through one.

What we use

A single Drive folder per year with one subfolder per project, links set to view-only for anyone. Then whatever service the brief specifies, because following the brief always beats your preference.
